An agreement to strengthen the partnership between the State and local government sectors for the benefit of local communities was signed at the State's largest event for local government professionals this week.
The State and Local Government Partnership Agreement seeks to promote collaboration between sectors to improve service delivery and outcomes for WA communities.
Signed by the Premier and Minister for Local Government during the 2017 WA Local Government Convention, the agreement recognises the importance of working together as well as the complementary strengths of each sector.
Partners to the agreement include the Government of Western Australia, Western Australian Local Government Association and Local Government Professionals Australia WA.
The convention provides an opportunity to explore local government issues and for industry suppliers to showcase their latest products and services to the sector.
More than 500 local government professionals from across the State attended the convention held at Perth Convention Centre from 2 - 4 August 2017.
