Nominations for the WA Women's Hall of Fame 2017 are now open. 

The WA Women's Hall of Fame recognises and celebrates the achievements of West Australian women. A total of 137 women from across WA have been inducted into the Hall of Fame since 2011 and a further 17 women recognised posthumously on the Roll of Honour.

The Department of Local Government and Communities supports the WA Women's Hall of Fame and is encouraging people to nominate a colleague, neighbour, friend or family member. Any woman currently residing in Western Australia is eligible for nomination.

Inductees are selected from six sectors:

  • Community
  • Business
  • Health
  • Education
  • Arts and Culture
  • Sport

Selection Criteria

The following criteria are assessed by the Selection Panel:

  1. Excellence in chosen field of endeavour (15 per cent)
  2. Significant contribution to the community and economy   (15 per cent)
  3. An inspirational role model for young women (15 per cent)
  4. Degree of difficulty of the achievement and related sacrifices made (15 per cent)
  5. Future goals and likely impact (15 per cent)
  6. Voluntary work beyond paid employment (15 per cent)
