‚ÄčThe Department of Local Government and Communities (DLGC) has released a request to provide parenting services to assist parents to:

  • manage the challenges of parenting
  • build knowledge, skills and confidence
  • understand children's development
  • identify local community supports and other relevant networks.

DLGC purchases community services to strengthen parenting across all communities in Western Australia and enrich the lives of children and families.

Services provided and purchased through the Parenting Services program area will target parents with children aged 0 to 18 years and at a service delivery level, connect and engage with the community in which the service is provided.

The services must also be accessible to the diverse range of parents throughout WA who may require different methods of engagement and support.

It is expected that each Parenting Service will adapt its approach to best meet the identified need with particular focus on Aboriginal families, culturally and linguistically diverse families, fathers and male caregivers and young parents.

Preference will be given to proposals that reflect a partnership approach including those that demonstrate strong connections and relationships with other providers of parenting and related services.
