New data revealing how local governments are raising, spending and managing their money is now available on the MyCouncil comparative website.

Launched in April 2016, the MyCouncil website has been updated with data extracted from 2015-16 local government annual financial statements.

As part of the update, WA's ratepayers will also be able to view information on payments received by elected members, local government long-term liabilities, and the percentage of female elected members for the first time.

MyCouncil has been a success with over 100,000 page views since its launch, allowing the public to determine if they are receiving value for money by accessing, comparing and sharing information about their local council's financial health.

MyCouncil aims to strengthen accountability and transparency throughout the local government sector and ensure West Australians benefit from high-performing councils.
