The Life in Pictures short film competition returns for its second year as part of the 2018 Revelation Perth International Film Festival (Revelation), with a prize pool of more than $20,000.

Entrants are asked to submit short films that are up to two minutes long, which demonstrate the positive aspects of ageing.

It also encourages Western Australian seniors to get creative, reflecting the competition hashtag #AgeIsJustANumber through film.

Stories of triumph, achievement and struggle, with themes like love, health care and employment, are encouraged through the competition.

Last year's winners included a film by Ruth Kendall called Janet's New Skills, a comedy about a woman who gains confidence by learning woodwork.

For the second year, Life in Pictures has been endorsed by the International Federation on Ageing, recognising the initiative as an excellent program that encourages a community conversation about ageing.

Films will judged in three categories and participants may have the opportunity to attend industry events and workshops, and see their film screened at the film festival.

Entries close 5pm, Wednesady 30 May 2018. Winners will be announced in July during the festival. For more and to enter, visit Life in Pictures on the Revelation website.

2016 WA Senior of the Year, actor Jenny Davis, is the ambassador for Life in Pictures, which is held in collaboration by the Department of Communities, Revelation and Screenwest.
