‚ÄčNominations for the WA Youth Awards are now open.

The WA Youth Awards were established in 1999 to recognise West Australians aged 12 to 25 years for their contribution to the community, as well as individuals and organisations that work with and support the State's young people.

There are six categories:

  • Minister for Youth's Most Outstanding Youth Worker Award
  • Active Participation Award
  • Cultural Endeavours Award
  • Organisational Achievement Award
  • Community Leadership Award
  • Under-18 Future Leader Award

One individual category winner will be chosen as the WA Young Person of the Year and will have the opportunity to travel throughout the State as WA's youth ambassador.

Young journalists, photographers, bloggers and media contributors who have committed to fair and balanced reporting on young people or youth issues can nominate for the Charmaine Dragun Memorial Award.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at Crown Perth on Friday 27 November.

The WA Youth Awards are presented by the Youth Affairs Council of WA in partnership with the Department of Local Government and Communities, and supported by Lotterywest.

To nominate, visit the WA Youth Awards Website before Friday 16 October.
