National Youth Week WA will be celebrated around the State thanks to funding provided by the Department of Local Government and Communities (DLGC).

Local governments and community sector organisations were invited to apply for up to $1,000 to host events or activities during National Youth Week.

Funding has been provided for 65 events that either celebrate the positive contributions of young people to Western Australian communities or raise important issues of concern to young people and explore solutions.

This year's opening event will be a festival and concert hosted by the City of Greater Geraldton on 1 April.

The City of Fremantle will host a closing event on 9 April at the Esplanade Youth Plaza, Fremantle.

National Youth Week WA will run from 1 to 9 April 2017 and is presented by Propel Youth Arts in partnership with DLGC.
