Grants of up to $10,000 are available for creative projects which engage young people in local communities.
The Youth Engagement Grants Program, administered by the Department of Local Government and Communities aims to encourage local governments and community groups to work in partnership to support young people's participation in their communities.
Funding of up to $5,000 is available for activities or initiatives lasting up to six months and up to $10,000 is available for longer term initiatives.
The grants program has been designed around the Our Youth – Our Future, Western Australia's Youth Strategic Framework (the Framework) which provides a whole of government framework to guide youth program and service planning in an integrated way.
Projects should actively involve young people in the design, planning and implementation and must engage young people aged 10-18 in creative ways and help achieve positive outcomes.
To be eligible, projects must address the Framework's outcomes and follow the ten principles in developing youth-friendly communities.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Contact DLGC to discuss your project and the potential level of funding available.
