Women entrepreneurs events

‚ÄčA series of events for women entrepreneurs took place in June.

The Inspiring Entrepreneurship Luncheon was held on Friday, 24 June 2016, at Parmelia Hilton Perth.

The event was hosted by Hon Liza Harvey MLA, Deputy Premier and Minister for Women's Interests and guest speakers included:

  • Vanya Cullen, Managing Director of Margaret River's Cullen Wines;
  • Sharon Grosser, co-founder of education software company SEQTA; and
  • Louise Daw, co-founder of MiPlan, which provides business improvement solutions to the mining industry.

Two other events to support women interested in starting up their own small business were held on Wednesday 29 June 2016 at Gordon Stephenson House, Exhibition Hall, Level 2, 140 William Street.

  • The Aspiring Entrepreneurship Speakers Forum (9.00am to 11.30am) showcases the journeys and insights of three inspirational West Australian business women that have found success in diverse fields.
  • The Aspiring Entrepreneurship Workshop which follows (11.30am to 2.30pm) provides attendees with practical information to run a small business with an introduction to business financials.

Both the Aspiring events were free of charge and delivered in partnership with the Small Business Development Corporation.
