A series of publications on maximising young people's input and contributions to community life have been refreshed and are now available online.
Recognising that young people are an integral part of the community and can help shape the future of Western Australia in new and exciting ways, the Department of Local Government and Communities (DLGC) initially launched the Youth Participation Kit in 2013.
The kit contains information sheets for youth on how to get involved in organisations and the community, and information sheets for organisations with suggestions on how they can include young people in decision-making.
The information sheets have recently been refreshed with improved processes for engaging with young people, updated case studies and a stronger focus on the use of social media and online engagement methods.
The publications are being distributed to local governments and are available at the DLGC website or in hard copy by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
