People interested in mentoring young people will have the opportunity to access mentoring information and services next week as part of a Youth Mentoring Week initiative supported by the Department of Local Government and Communities.

Youth Mentoring Week is a national celebration throughout Australia and takes place from 20 to 26 October 2015.

As part of Youth Mentoring Week in WA, the WA Youth Mentoring Network (WAYMN) is hosting a Mentor Summit at Murdoch University on 23 October.

The summit will involve four workshops on the topics of mentoring young Aboriginal people, adolescent brain development, Mentoring Worx resources and challenging behaviours plus keynote speaker, Kenzie Dann, from AIME Mentoring.

DLGC is an active member of the WAYMN and in 2014, contributed funds to the Australian Youth Mentoring Network to support the WAYMN to coordinate youth mentoring activities in WA.

To attend the summit, visit RSVP via try booking.
