The Financial Counselling Traineeships Grant Program 2021-2023, supported by the Department of Communities, will contribute towards the establishment of a training pipeline and the longer-term sustainability of the financial counselling workforce in Western Australia.
Traineeships of up to $110,000 over two years in metropolitan Perth and Mandurah locations and up to $120,000 over two years in regional locations for each FTE trainee are available to financial counselling services currently funded by the Department of Communities.
Grants will be provided to organisations that plan to employ individuals who are new entrants to the financial counsellor workforce.
A new entrant to the financial counsellor workforce is defined as an:
- individual, pending a recruitment process undertaken by the organisation, who is not currently enrolled in a Diploma of Financial Counselling course with any Registered Training Organisation (RTO); or
- existing employee who is not currently employed in a financial counsellor role and is not currently enrolled in a Diploma of Financial Counselling course with any RTO.
Organisations seeking to engage an individual who is currently enrolled in a Diploma of Financial Counselling course with an RTO, including RTOs located interstate, are not eligible for this grants round.
Applications close at 4pm on Wednesday, 16 December 2020. Late applications will not be accepted.
