Applications are now being received to provide culturally appropriate family and domestic violence services.
The focus of the grant program is:
- awareness raising and education in Aboriginal and Culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) communities on family and domestic violence
- capacity building among Aboriginal and CaLD community leaders and elders to address family and domestic violence
- cultural competency training for service providers
- family and domestic violence training for Aboriginal and CaLD service providers.
The program also aims to improve referral pathways and address barriers to accessing services for Aboriginal women and women from CaLD backgrounds and their children that are experiencing family and domestic violence.
Consortium proposals leveraging existing partnerships will be considered favourably. Applications will be considered based on the strength of responses to the selection criteria and their ability to meet the requirements of the grant.
