​In partnership with the community services sector, the Department empowers communities to be connected and inclusive places where people feel they belong, are valued and contribute.

Funded programs

  • Community Neighbourhood Development Services – provides opportunities for individuals and families to develop skills and knowledge, improve their wellbeing, build their self-esteem and personal development, and expand their connection to the community.
  • Empowering Communities  – facilitates grass-roots community development in metropolitan and regional areas to generate social connection to increase both community and individual wellbeing.

Other funded services

  • Linkwest - the peak body for community, neighbourhood and learning centres in Western Australia, LinkWest offers targeted training and support for small, community-managed not-for-profit organisations.
  • Citizens Advice Bureau WA - provides a mediation program for family and some civil matters, legal advice and referrals about a range of family, civil and criminal matters, and a legal advice bureau with a volunteer solicitor.
