Grants are available to eligible community housing organisations (including local government authorities) that froze rent payable increases during the entire COVID-19 Emergency Period (from 30 March 2020 to 28 March 2021); or that intend to credit tenants/occupants for rent payable increases applied during this period.
The Grant is a one-off, 'good faith' payment available to community housing organisations and local government authorities that:
provide social or affordable housing (including Community Disability Housing Program housing), or Transitional Accommodation under contract with the Housing Authority in the Department of Communities; and
set rent by reference to income; and
froze rent payable increases during the entire COVID-19 Emergency Period; or
applied rent payable increases during the Emergency Period (including where the organisation froze rent payable increases for part of the Emergency Period) but intend to credit tenants/occupants for all increased rent payable charged during the Emergency Period.
COVID-19 Community Housing Rent Relief Grant Program applications are closed.
Please refer to the Grant Guidelines and make early contact with the project team at email@example.com to discuss your organisation's eligibility.
