Funding of up to $15,000 per project is available for local governments and incorporated not-for-profit community organisations to implement age-friendly, active and positive ageing, and other seniors-related strategies that focus on reconnecting older people with their community and building capacity to remain connected should any further COVID-19 social isolation restrictions be imposed in the future.
Projects that assist vulnerable older people or target older people in regional and rural areas are strongly encouraged. Projects that target a community-wide audience, beyond the membership base of an organisation, are also strongly encouraged.
Innovation is encouraged to test new methods of achieving age-friendly outcomes within the community. Pilot projects that have not been previously tested within the local government or the community are eligible for funding through this program.
Project review and evaluation to assess the effectiveness of achieving project outcomes and to explore project feasibility and sustainability post funding may be included in the application.
