Shire of Morawa will conduct the Gunduwa Young Creative Producers Project. Participants will take part in a five day film making workshop which will enable them to shoot, edit and create short films which will be featured in a mini film festival to be held at the Blues for the Bush Open Day and Concert Festival. Participants will also be involved in creating a documentary about the event which will be screened on the final day of the Festival. The project provides an opportunity for young people to develop new skills and get hands on experience in the film industry.
WA Community Change Group Inc. will conduct the Bunbury Body Image Project. A series of six workshops will see young women between the ages of 12-15 take part in educational and interactive activities covering topics including mental and physical health, emotional wellbeing, self-care, mindfulness, physical activities and nutrition. The aim of the project is to get young women to shift their focus from size and weight to a more positive notion of health and balance. At the end of the workshops participants will produce an art/photographic piece of work which will be used in a community wide media campaign.
The Lions Club of Waroona will host its annual Christmas Party to thank the volunteers who assisted with the January 2016 bushfires in the region. The volunteers from the neighbouring Lions Clubs of Mandurah, Pinjarra, Harvey, Collie, Boddington and Brunswick Junction will be invited to the event.
